Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently made headlines when he revealed his impressive collection of awards. The actor, who was honored with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award at the Locarno Film Festival, confessed to having a rather unique trophy room.
During an interview, Khan admitted to being a ‘shameless’ lover of awards and the recognition they bring. He shared that his award collection is so vast that it requires an entire room, or rather, an entire floor in his nine-story office building. Instead of a typical trophy room, he has transformed the space into a library with a classic English aesthetic. “I do. It’s bigger than this room! I have 300 awards. I have a nine-storey office and on every floor I have some of the awards. Actually, it’s not a trophy room. It’s a library which is designed like an English library.”
When asked if he enjoys awards ceremonies after all these years, he shared, “I enjoy it. I am very shameless about this. I love getting awards. I love the ceremony. I get a little nervous if I have to give speeches.”
The actor’s passion for awards extends beyond just collecting them. He’s often expressed his excitement and nervousness when receiving accolades, especially on international platforms. Despite his global stardom, Khan admits to feeling a bit anxious in such high-pressure situations.
This love for awards is evident in his recent win at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, where he was awarded Best Actor for his performance in Jawan. Khan jokingly described himself as “greedy” when it comes to winning awards, highlighting his competitive spirit and appreciation for recognition.
With a career spanning over three decades, Shah Rukh Khan has undoubtedly earned his place as one of Bollywood’s most iconic stars. His candidness about his love for awards adds a touch of humility to his larger-than-life persona.
