Written and directed by Vikram Bhatt, the film is a fictionalised version of the story of Ajay Murdia aka the founder of a chain of fertility clinics, Indira IVF. According to reports the film has incorporated some real facts about his life and career in the screenplay. The film explores a legal case, where he is accused of an attempt to murder one of his younger board members, while the memory of his dead wife gives him hope to not give up. With a run time of over two and a half hours, the film feels longer than necessary between, flashbacks, songs and more.

Led by Anupam Kher as Ajay Murdia, the film begins with a news montage of how he is accused of attempting to murder, while a court proceeding grants him bail in the matter. His lawyer played by Eesha Deol is seen flying with him to Udaipur, so the family can decide how to move forward with the case. While Ajay wants to brave the storm along, he isn’t left behind by his kids who also decide to stick by him till the end. Soon it is evident, that the young board member is trying to frame Ajay Murdia in the case and his life was never in danger.

As the case moves forward, through flashbacks of his life, the film reveals his motivations in life. How became the Ajay Murdia and ran a nationwide infertility clinic chain, when he was just teaching students at a university in Udaipur. There are many songs, and scenes in the film that do not add to the narrative but stretch the runtime of the film including a long emotional montage of his success, which has already been established at the start of the film.

The screenplay does follow from scene to scene, jumping between conversations in present and past. While there are themes the film explores, and it is evident, that Ajay Murdia’s wife is his driving force in life, the execution of the film fails its story and its actors. The production value of the film is visually low, the heavy and unmissable use of green screens does hinder the impact of their performances.

Anupam Kher has a great presence, but the dialogue cannot wear the weight of it. While he has good chemistry with some of his co-stars it doesn’t work well with the scene alongside, Esha Deol who is returning to the big screen. The court scene with Ajay cross-questioning should have been a great scene for Eesha’s role. However, the direction the makers went with doesn’t add to the storyline. Some moments between the actors also feel lacklustre. The young board member is his adoptive son who frames Ajay but there is barely any interaction between the two.

Meanwhile, the film’s screenplay attempts comedy too often for a biographical crime thriller. The makers barely follow a directional theme which may have been its biggest drawback. Overall the film is missable and can be watched on OTT.
