Deepika Padukone had a very successful 2023, with releases like Pathan and another cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s next film Jawan. However, the actress did not release another solo release in the year but she is about to make up for it with her 2024 releases. The actress has confirmed three major releases in the year and all will see her in unusual roles without and without elements of action. But the three releases confirm that she will be talk of the town all year, like SRK was in 2023.

Deepika Padukone is going to kick start Bollywood’s box office year with Fighter also starring Hrithik Roshan. The film is set to follow Shamsher Pathania played by Hrithik Roshan who fulfills his lifelong dream and becomes a member of the Indian air force. However, his struggle doesn’t end there, as he faces rigorous challenges, nicknamed Patty, he must rise above his own limitations and become a true hero.

Apart from Hrithik Roshan, the film will led by Deepika Padukone who essays the role of Squadron Leader Minal Rathore and her call sign has been revealed as Minni. Meanwhile, it will also star Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh and his call sign has been revealed as Rocky. While Deepika has made a name for herself in the action genre, this will be the first time she will be seen playing a pilot.

The teaser-trailer of the film has already impressed the fans, as it shows a mix of action, thriller with an emotional patriotic story. Deepika is known for her performances in drama and action, which will make Fighter a good watch for the start of the year.

She will also be seen in Prabhas led film Kalki 2989 AD, which saw a massive announcement at the San Diego Comic Con in 2023. The film is set in a dystopian future. The teaser shows people being separated into different classes and many living in poor conditions, calling for their saviour. The synopsis revealed that the film will follow a modern-day avatar of Lord Vishnu played by Prabhas who descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces.

While details about Deepika Padukone’s character name are not mentioned on the official Wikipedia page of the film, reports suggest that the film she will be seen playing the role of Aswathi, a scientist. The teaser of the film also showed a first look at the character, who seems to be forced into working for the wrong side.

Not much is revealed about the plot or the film, but it seems like a drama with action elements like Dune or Rebel Moon. The film also starring Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role is expected released on April 12, 2024.

For her, possibly final film of the year, Deepika Padukone will be seen donning the police officer’s uniform for the first time. Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is expanding its world with many new actors added to the ranks.

One of the leading ladies in the film is Kareena Kapoor as Singham’s wife, while the other donning the action avatar again in Deepika Padukone as Shakti Shetty. The first look from the film showed her sitting on a pile of bodies with buildings burning as the backdrop. She can be holding a pistol to a gangster’s mouth and yelling at the camera. Another first look showed her with her run resting on her head.

The film will also star Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham, Jackie Shroff as Omar Hafeez, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff along with Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in their Singham roles. However, fans are most excited to see Deepika Padukone take on a powerful and brutal officer’s role.

Without a doubt, only with the teasers and trailers, Deepika has claimed 2024 for her own. With the releases, the hype for her film will only grow more.
