Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh last graced the big screens in 2023 with Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. While he made a cameo in Rohit Shetty’s cop film Singham Returns, alongside many other actors, fans have been eagerly waiting for him to return in a leading role. Currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Aditya Dhar directorial Dhurandhar, a recent media report states that the makers are planning to launch the teaser of the project on the actor’s birthday itself.
Quoting a report by Pinkvilla, News18 revealed that the makers are planning to release the teaser of Dhurandhar on Ranveer’s birthday, i.e., July 6, as a gift to him from them. Referring to the entertainment portal’s soul, the reported that the director has locked a “solid teaser” which will be a “birthday special unit.” The teaser will reportedly introduce the “world of this espionage,” to the audience.

It is to be noted that the makers are yet to officially release any assets of the film. Apart from the announcement of the project and a few leaked clips, nothing has been revealed about the film. The source adds, “This would mark the first official asset of the film, and the entire team is confident to take the audience on a thrilling ride. It’s a birthday gift from the makers to Ranveer Singh and his fans.”
Pinkvilla’s source goes on to mention that Jio Studios, Dhar, as well as Singh excited to release the teaser, which will present all their actors in the most “larger-than-life avatars.” Shedding more light on the project, News18 quoted the source saying, “Dhurandhar is a period espionage thriller primarily set in the era of 1970s and 1980s in Pakistan. The film also has some present-day elements, which have been kept under wraps for now, as Ajit Doval continues to be a celebrated persona in the system with a legacy spanning four decades.”

Earlier media reports suggested that Dhurandhar is scheduled for release at the end of the year. The film features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Yami Gautam, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. Based on the life of Ajit Doval, an Indian bureaucrat and spymaster, the movie is a gripping mix of action, drama, and suspense.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh reprised his iconic role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again. He was last seen as a lead in Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He will be next seen in Dhurandhar and Farhan Akhtar directorial Don 3. The shoot for the latter will reportedly commence at the end of 2025.
