Gujarat Titans have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Explaining the reason behind the move, captain Shubman Gill noted that the wicket looked good and that the dew could play a major part in the second innings of the game. Speaking about the team composition, the 25-year-old added that he is happy with the depth and that four pacers and two spinners are part of GT’s playing XI.

“We will bowl first. It is a good cricketing wicket. There is some dew here. Just keeping it in mind. Dew is a big factor here. Big targets can be chased down. Preparation has been amazing. We have our bases covered. The bowling attack is good. Very fortunate to play at the biggest stadium in the world. We have four pacers and two spinners,” Gill said after the toss.

Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer too mentioned that he would have loved to bowl first. He too expressed content with the new team, stating that they are spoilt for choices. Explaining the team composition, Iyer mentioned that they are playing one spinner and three seamers in the playing XI.

“I would have loved to bowl. I am always someone who loves a chase. Take the challenge. There are so many familiar faces around. There is Ricky. You need unity and synergy in the team. We have got a lot of all-rounders in the team. We are spoilt for choices. Since we will be batting first, we have only one spinner and three seamers,” Iyer said.
