Shortly after the CID team killed off ACP Pradyuman, portrayed by Shivaji Satam, reports suggest the character will return. According to the Times of India, Shivaji will resume his role “in a few weeks.” Recently, Parth Samthaan claimed he was replacing ACP Pradyuman.

Last week, fans heavily criticized the decision to eliminate ACP Pradyuman. Now, citing a source close to the production, the Times of India stated, “ACP Pradyuman is an iconic character and he can never die. Shivaji Satam will be back on the show in a few weeks.”

“Parth Samthaan,who has made an entry, will be shooting for the show for a short period of time. In the past, the makers have killed characters and brought them back to shows; so such twists and turns are normal,” added the source. Shivaji “is likely to start shooting for the show by next week.” He has starred as ACP Pradyuman since the show started in 1998.

In a recent CID episode, the team pursued criminal Barboza (Tigmanshu Dhulia), who ensnared ACP Pradyuman and appeared to kill him in an explosion, though the death wasn’t depicted on screen.

Sony TV announced his death via a social media post, sharing an Instagram photo of ACP Pradyuman with the caption, “In the loving memory of ACP Pradyuman… A loss that will never be forgotten.” The image bore the words, “End of an era. ACP Pradyuman (1998-2025).”

Later, Shivaji spoke about his character’s death with Bombay Times, “I have no clue about this. I have taken a break for sometime and the makers know what lies ahead in the show. I have learnt to take everything in my stride and if my track is over, I am okay with it. However, I have not been told whether my track is over or not! As of now, I am not shooting for the show.”

The beloved TV show CID returned earlier this year and is now streaming on Netflix, Sony Entertainment, and Sony LIV. New episodes air every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM. After a six-year hiatus, CID made its comeback, having ended its impressive 20-year run in October 2018.
