May 7, 2025

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was all set to return to Bollywood with Vaani Kapoor starrer Abir Gulaal. As he was busy promoting the film, India was left in shock because of the horrific Pahalgam terrorist attack. This led to his film being banned from release. While he condemned the attack, he was slammed relentlessly by Indian netizens as well as Pakistani netizens. On Wednesday, in retaliation for the attack, the Indian military launched Operation Sindoor. He has now called it a “shameful attack” in his country.

While his Instagram handle, just like other Pakistani actors’, was blocked in India, a screenshot of his message has surfaced on the internet. Extending his condolences to the victims and their families, he hoped that better sense would prevail.

I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come. A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!”

Apart from Fawad, other Pakistani celebrities like Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, and Mawra Hocane, among many others, have condemned the attack on Pakistan.
