Recently, Varun Dhawan addressed allegations of behaving inappropriately with co-stars Kiara Advani and Alia Bhatt. Over the years, Dhawan has faced flak on social media after he was seen holding Bhatt’s belly during a promotional event, and planting a kiss on Advani’s cheek during a magazine cover shoot. Fans pointed out that the actresses looked uncomfortable, accusing Dhawan of inappropriate behaviour.

Addressing these allegations, Dhawan told Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast that the kiss with Advani was planned. “I’m glad you asked me this. It was planned. Both Kiara and I posted that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they wanted some movement and action, so we planned that. She’s a good actress. It was completely planned. I’ll admit when things weren’t planned.”

Dhawan added that he tried to playfully push Advani into a pool during an event, and that was unplanned. Advani was seen urging Dhawan to let her go as he grabbed her by her waist. “That I did on purpose. It was all in good fun. It wasn’t planned. That’s just my nature, I guess,” he said.

Speaking about Alia, Dhawan said that touching Alia’s belly was unplanned too. “I did it in fun. It wasn’t flirting. We’re friends,” he said. Dhawan and Bhatt made their debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, and have been friends since. They’ve starred in films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, and Kalank.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is preparing for the release of Baby John. The film is the official remake of the Tamil film Theri. The original film starred Thalapathy Vijay. While Dhawan leads the film, Baby John also stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles. Salman Khan will also be making a special appearance in the movie. Directed by Kalees, the film promises to end the year with a bang as it releases in cinemas this Christmas.
