A trailer for a new movie titled Bhaiyaa Ji, featuring Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee, has just dropped. A full on action movie with seemingly strong elements of drama, Bhaiyaa Ji is set in the backdrop of the Hindi heartland.
The opening of the trailer sees a politician asking one of his men to tell him who Bhaiyaa Ji is. This opening sequence is greatly reminiscent of a popular scene in the Keanu Reeves movie John Wick where Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) asks Russian Mob Boss Viggo Tarasov (Michael Nyqvist), his father, about who John Wick is. This is where John Wick is revealed to be a feared and unstoppable hitman known as Baba Yaga.
Similarly, in the trailer for Bhaiyaa Ji, Manoj Bajpaaye’s character is introduced as a vicious and violent vigilante who strikes fear in the heart of every corrupt and criminal man.
As it turns out, the politician murdered Bhaiyaa Ji’s brother and the vigilante’s wrath is imminent. Just like in the case of John Wick, where everything spiralled out of control due to Iosef Tarasov killing the assassin’s beagle puppy gifted to him by his late wife.

This is the first time Manoj Bajpaaye will be featured in an over-the-top action film with plenty of hand-to-hand combat, slow motion shots, and lots of gore and guns.
Before this, Bajpaaye has largely portrayed more realistic characters, like in his recent movies Gulmohar, Mrs. Serial Killer, and Gali Guleiyan.
Bhaiyaa Ji has been directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, who also directed Manoj Bajpaaye in 2023’s Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Apart from Manoj Bajpaaye, Bhaiyaa Ji also stars Zoya Hussain, Jatin Goswami, Suvinder Vicky, and Vipin Sharma.
Bhaiyaa Ji was filmed in Uttar Pradesh, and has been produced by Manoj Bajpayee, Vinod Bhanushali, Shabana Raza, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Shael Oswal, and Samiksha Oswal. It is set to release on 24 May 2024.
